Bargain $500 Mini - Is this True?
Still dealing with the hyper-flash
This was a response on another forum;
"Need to switch out the flasher cube/relay for an LED one...all flashing bulbs need to be either original, OR LED..can't be mixed or u will get hyperflash. LEDs take way less juice than original, need the flasher cube to reflect that. That's the way it worked on my truck...not sure if it's the same for mini"
Is there a "flasher" on a Mini? I didn't think there was.
I also thought it wouldn't matter if some bulbs were incandescent and that the load resister was "fooling" the computer into thinking the LED's were incandescent.
Also, are the load resistors directional? Wondering if the ones that came with the lights are in wrong. If not, I'm about to try 2 in series.

Hyper-Flash
So 99 people looked at this and no one knows. No thoughts on Hyper Flash.
I had read low voltage cause Hyper-flash so I put the 4 month old batter on a trickle charger until it was in float mode, [fully charged] and there was no change.
It flashes normally 5-6 times, then Hyper-Flash. De-activate the signal, turn it back on and it flashes normally 2-3 times. A third try it Hyper-flashes right away.
I even tried a second ballast resistor in line with the first. no change.
This is getting old.

Try to connect the second resistor parallel with the first one. (The resistor is your virtual bulb it needs to be connected parallel with the LED bulb. If it still hyper flash then it means the resistance is too high. Connecting a second resistor in line will increase the resistance. Connecting them parallel will lower the resistance.)

So I'm pretty sure my turn signals are possessed.
I read where someone said they got hyper-flash when their RPMs were low, and it went away with increase in RPM. Although I have a "new" battery, [5 months] and I have it on a smart trickle charger, I thought maybe this could be voltage related.
So I charged the battery for a day or two until it was def. in float mode.
Then tried the signals. They would blink normally 5-10 times, sometimes more, [10-15 times] then hyper flash. If I turned the key off and on, each time it would bling normally fewer times, then hyper-flash. Or one side would hyper flash after 1-2 times, and the other side would blink normal [for a while], then it might switch sides...
At that point I had to walk away for a day or two.
So I got the new reservoir for the master cylinder and got that back together and the brakes bled, and all the intake stuff back so I could start the engine.
With the engine running both worked normally, 2 successive tries for about 20-25 "blinks".
Maybe it's working? Who knows? I'm almost afraid to try it again but I guess I'll have to eventually...
I'm not calling it fixed quite yet.
