Can anyone tell me what tires came with your Sport package. My salesperson just told me they come with all season run flats but the brochure says performance run flats. I have spent some time trying to figure out my snow tire plans but this would make a big difference on what I decide to do. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me.
Also, anybody know what bolt pattern (ie 4x100) the MINI uses? I am trying to find some used wheels and if not at least make sure the ones I get are a correct fit. Anxiously awaiting mid December delivery in Denver.

I believe it depends on whether you are in 'snow country' or not....

Yeah. Brutally cold here as well. Only 66 right now with
the high only expected to go up to 76. I wish I'd gotten
the heated seats.

For your info, the coopers sport package that upgrades your wheels to 16" comes with performance tires. So if your cooper has the 16" wheels and you plan on driving it in the snow, you will need snow tires.

Yep, I'm in Denver and have a Cooper with the sport pkg. My tires are Goodyear runflats and they're pretty bad in the snow. I slide all over the place and DSC/ABS works overtime. I have the steel wheels/blizzaks on order from Tirerack. Total was $580 including shipping and some reasonably good looking wheel covers.

I also priced Blizzaks at a Firestone dealer downtown for the 16" alloys. They were much more expensive - came to the same price just for the tires! I decided that the higher profile/narrower 15" tires would give better traction and ride.

Hope this helps,

Lee

When you order the sports package, you have the option to choose the all season versus the performance tires. Being in FL, I ordered the performance but was given the other option. You should check with your salesman again.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. Next stop tirerack and I guess the first thing I get to do with my MINI will be to change over the tires.

1) Welcome to MCO. It's always nice to see another Denverite on the forum. Please check out the Rocky Mountain Forum here on MCO. We are starting up a new MINI club for Denver called MINI5280 You can join the Denver MINI Yahoo Group to keep on top of the latest Denver MINI news and events.

2) The bolt pattern is 4X100, but be careful to also match the offset and centerbore correctly. See this post in the Tire and Wheel forum for the stock wheel size information

3) The AVS ES100 tires are great in the dry and in the rain, but the are terrible in the snow. Fortunately for 2minis, Florida doesn't get much of the white stuff.
