Curious, what does this push button do??
First, sorry for the bad picture...I'll try to do better next time.
I've had this 2004 R53 since June of 2016, been a fun car now that I have repaired and fixed all the issues that the car had when I got it from the kid that was selling it....
I have made some posts here in the forum without formally introducing myself and the Mini, I promise I will post something in the "welcome" thread soon
Anyway, my Mini has the audio steering wheel controls on the backside of the wheel spokes, and I'm at a loss as to what this one button does. The car has the factory AM/FM in dash head unit with CD player. I also still has the factory 6 disc changer mounted in the rear boot area mounted to the passenger side panel below the light.
There is one button on the rear of the steering wheel that I have yet to figure out what is does or controls. The passenger side 3 buttons, the upper & lower buttons control the volume, and the center button switches what source of tunes that you want to listen to, ie, radio, in dash CD, or the 6 disc unit at the rear.
The upper & lower drivers side buttons on the back of the steering wheel will move the radio station up or down in frequency or move the track that the CD's are playing to the next one up or down.
Now, the $1,000,000 dollar question, what does the center button do, (the one that I'm pointing to in the picture). This is on the drivers side of the steering wheel. I was hoping that it operated the passenger side ejector seat when the panoramic sliding roof was open, but that option doesn't work either
Can anyone tell me about this button??
Thanks, Bryan

Eject is on the toggle bank only if PO was smart to elect the rare option.

The button I am referring to is on the back side of the wheel spoke, drivers side, middle button

Not sure if this clears things up or not. I see no other pages in the manual that describe any other audio controls at all. Weird.

Yep its the old school button for the rare phone options. Which in part used the Bluetooth kit. You could use the pad it came with or the buttons on the back of the wheel if you had them.

Get out your old flip phone or early nokia, you have just stepped up your game from a BMW nokia. Or bag cell phone.
