Push Button Start

I bought a push button start for my 2006 MCS, from MINIMANIA and my MINI mechanic said its to much wireing and the Bentley guide is still not specific enough, I want to replace the cigarette lighter with it, anybody know a place in the NY area that i can trust to do this?

Was it the OEM version, or aftermarket? The vendor should provide instructions. The OEM was described here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...141#post898141

It was this one, from MINIMANIA
so that qualifies as aftermarket right?

That depends, vendors also sell OEM parts. Do the parts look anything like the one in the other thread? The OEM version actually includes a replacement center dash panel. Were there no instructions at all? MiniMania should be able to obtain instructions for you.

Contact MINI-Mania staff... They are very helpful and will email you the "how-to".

I've had issues with my Ultrik swaybar (couldn't find the optimal adjustment settings with their droplinks) so I sent an email to MINI-Mania. The next day, I received all the infos I needed to get it right.

Is this really just a matter of tapping into the ignition harness, then drilling somewhere for the button? If so, I'll probably try to get an S2000 engine start button off eBay. Adds to that "cool" factor the MINI carries with it wherever it goes.
