Fuel filter float problem
Hello all
Since I purchase an2005 Mini Cooper s converable I have been trying to fix it here and there! I have ran into a problem with the fuel filter replacement problem. I replaced the filter but now the float car connected to the filter base came off and now I am unable to reconnect it!! Does anyone know how to reconnect it for the space to work is way to tight or recommend someone who does repairs in south jersey besides the Mini dealer?

+1^ just be careful with the fumes and everything.
Then clip it on to the old housing, should look like this when attached
DIY for the future.

The float bar had come all the way off, it appears that the angle to reattach does not match up? Why I don’t known. I thought it was some how disconnected from something else but not so and unable to reconnect with minimal space available.

You might just have to pull the whole thing out and reattach it.

That’s what I was going to say. The metal arm snaps into place on the plastic fitting and it can be brittle from exposure to fuel. Best to remove the unit. I hate to say it but the little tabs on the plastic arm may have snapped off. If that happened it would be difficult to reattach the float arm. You might be able to tie the arm onto the plastic arm with some small copper wire strands from an electrical wire.
