Where oh where have my Cooper Flag stripes gone?

On September 20 I ordered a set of Shelby Cobra style bonnet and boot stripes for my arriving MCS from Cooper Flags. Hyper Blue is close ot the old Cobra Blue and I thought they would look great. On September 21 my credit card was charged $143. Now, I am used to my credit card being charged when a product ships, so I was eager to see the stripe in a couple of days.

After two weeks I called to inquire to the status and left a voice message. No reply. I did find on their site where they claimed all of the stripes were made to order. Still, the stripes should have been there by then.

Several voice messages and e-mail have gone all but unanswered (1 voice message reply and 1 e-mail). The e-mail said another set of stripes would go out that afternoon (tough if they're made to order). Cooper Flag's claim was that the first set must have been misdelivered by UPS. UPS stops by here almost every week. Dubious.

On Tuesday of this week I offically disputed the charge with my credit card company. Still no contact from Cooper Flags. What is truly sad is that I was not done ordering from Cooper Flags. I wanted side graphics and an American flag for the roof (the subdued, understated MINI look). I am done ordering from Cooper Flags now.

Sorry to hear that. I had a great experience with them. I think they are a husband and wife team running things out of thier home. Good luck and give them a chance, I've talked with her on the phone and they're super nice. I know that doesn't help when youv'e parted with your hard earned cash and you don't have anything to show for it. Just my thought- good luck.

Apparently the company was sold within the past couple of months.

I am sure that both PayPal and my credit card company have been in touch with Cooper Flags by now. I find it distressing that STILL no one from Cooper Flags has contacted me to make even the slightest act of contrition (an apology would be nice).

I really do not think I am overreacting. I waited patiently for my merchandise. It is the lack of communication from the vendor that has gotten my ire up.

Alternatives?

I am soon to order a roof graphic from Cooper Flags. This worries me.

Does anyone know of any alternative places to purchase a roof graphic?

My stripes arrived today, one month and five days after they were ordered. No form of communication whatsoever in the package along with the stripes.

It would not have been an issue if the new owners of Cooper Flags had made better attempts at any sort of communication. Also the tactic of charging a credit card before an item ships is just a bad practice.

I am saddened as they have some remarkable looking graphics that I will not purchase due to my experience with them.

Just informed of MY mistake.

On another board I frequent I learned that PayPal hit my credit card with the charge, not Cooper Flags. I will apologize to them for that, but still and all I think better communication from Cooper Flags is crucial to them remaining in business.

I spoke with Ed Bowers, one of the new owners of Cooper Flags yesterday afternoon. He was very apologetic about the poor job they've been doing getting back to people. He thinks they have sorted out the new responsibilities in their company and that they will do a better job from now on. I was getting ready to join the list of complaints with them but he was very cooperative with me and seems to sincerely want to make things right with everyone who had problems. I'm going to give them a chance (they also own a MINI and want to provide a cool product to the community) because I know it's tough taking over a business and I think their product is pretty great.
If they don't do a better job of dealing with their customers, they will be the ones to lose out so I hope they get it right from here on out. I guess only time will tell. Here's hoping we see more from Cooper Flags and no more !

Cheers,

Bonnet Stripes

Here in Indianapolis, we have a graphics design company that has made me a couple of different sets of stripes for alot cheaper than those from MINI or Cooper Flags. Their quality is far better as well. They can make custom anything! FreeLance is their name!

The New Cooper Flags

To everyone that has had issues with Cooper Flags, please visit vendor announcements where I have placed a post concerning the problems we have been experiencing.

In reference to pricing and quality, please visit the website as we have been making some positive changes. We have lowered our material cost and have passed the savings directly to you. As far as product quality, we now use only 3M materials in our production process (with the exception of the carbon fiber option which is an Avery product, a good product as well) and I will put our products up against any graphic products available to the MINI owner. As you know Cooper Flags provides custom services as well, send in a design, an idea, request a specific material, and we will work with you to put your idea on your MINI.

Thank you for choosing the new Cooper Flags to help "Dress your MINI"

Ed Bowers

Ed, thank you for coming in and clearing things up. It is what I had suspected all along, and was the explanation for my problems moths ago, which were, by the way, handled perfectly by Christian.
I had sent in photos for you guys to use in the gallery but perhaps they got lost in the transition, so let me know if you would like to use any of them like this one:

BTW the new prices are excellent, really where they should be. Bringing production in-house should also solve the problems that I experienced. I think you guys will come out of this very positively.

Josh, I just hope I’m not to late.
We are proud to carry the Cooper Flags name and plan many positive changes, including a new online store with some really cool features. I will get with Christian to locate your photos as I’m planning to have a page on the new site featuring proud MINI owners displaying their personalities through our products. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Ed

I'm sorry, I am going to be selfish. The words sound nice. but they come cheap. My experience of having to make a pest of myself in order to receive the goods I paid for leaves me with the opinon that the product was too costly.

Now, instead of going directly to Cooper Flags for my roof and side graphics without thinking, I will look around for another vender. Thus far there has been nothing done to entice me to purchase from Cooper Flags again.

No LUCK

Hmm, I am also going to look around for a different company, since I have had no luck getting any replies to the emails I have sent. Does anyone have any suggestions of where else to go?
