Valeo clutch conversion kit labor cost

I received a quote $650 cash for clutch and flywheel job from mini cooper specialist.
The shop told me that price is including control arm bushings job (psb) as well.
I’m bringing all the parts. Is that a reasonable price?

That sounds super reasonable, if you ask me. It took me ~20 hours to do it right. A really good mechanic can probably do it in 10-12, but either way, even 10 hours X $125/hr = $1250. Go for it!

We charge $800 labor to R&R a clutch, and an additional to do control arm bushings at the same time, so I would say that price is on par.

Make sure they do an alignment afterwards.

Helix also flat rates their clutch replacements as well and it's around that price. I'd say that $800 is just fine, if not on the cheap side.

Wow. Why is the labor so high? I know it's a different car, but my e46 I had done for I think $480 or so. Is it just because you need to drop the subframe?

Rear wheel drive versus front wheel drive, totally different monster for drive train work.

Yap! I can do rear wheel drive blindfolded, and one hand.
