Order now placed for my very own bundle of joy.

Can anyone / everyone tell me what to expect during the build/delivery time, and how to survive it?

Playing around on this site definitely helps the waiting pain....

Just make sure that you get all your information from your dealer....like your VIN #/production number so you can track your baby being built....if you are anything like me, you will end up calling 1-866-ASK-MINI alot....especially near the end.....

The wait will be over before you know it!

You didn't mention which options you chose...

We would be glad to make some recommendations! DEFINITELY get the Sport package!

got all three packages, plus Zenon headlights on a cooper...

I will be dutifully tracking the progress. The Owner's Lounge, right?

And I seem to recall reading about mini sending out a number of "gifts" right? Should I find out in advance what they are or should I just be surprised?

I am happily now a member of the family, just expecting the baby to arrive by boat.

Sit back and enjoy the anticipation! I waited from early march to mid july for MINI Me and it was worth every minute. And not expecting the surprise packages was really great. Come home, somethings in the mail box, rapidly tear open box and go Wow , .

Well the wait is survivable. I suggest looking around on the internet for aftermarket stuff. I ordered several things during my wait. Minimadness.com, minimania.com, and mossmini.com all have great offerings. I now have my "S" and have the madness intake system. Add 9.5 HP and a great sound from that supercharger. I also just finished painting my brake calipers bright red so they show thru the white 17" wheels. You are not going to be disappointed with this car, trust me. Even with the BMW recommendation of 4500 RPM during break in, the performance is amazing! With this performance I also recommend air horns. People don't expext such a small car to be where it is. Those SUV's might not see you especially if they're talking on the phone!

Hang in there! chandlers4@attbi.com

Keep visiting this site - keep checking the owners lounge on MINIUSA - go bug your dealer for lots and lots of test drives - and just remember the wait is worth it.

How soon should you expect to see "the gifts" in the mail? I will have two home residences simultaneously soon (due to a move) and worry some may get lost or stolen.
