Belt Tensioner Tool

Does anyone here know where I can purchase the lock pin for the belt tensioner on a '05 MCS? The tool I purchased did not come with the tool.

It is just a bend piece of steel wire. You can find a surplus allen wrench around the house. Even a right dia rusty nail will do.

Thanks for the response - I did think of that but I would like to get the correct tool for the job.

Nealsmini...you can also get a paint can opener at Home Depot and use it...there really isn't anything special about the lock pin...mine isn't much more than a paint can opener that's had the tip rounded off.

An allen key and some needlenose plyers to hold the key works fantastic! Not sure if you'll be able to find just the pin tool anywhere.

He is correct, or you can use a small pocket screwdriver.

You can make one from something that you probably have hanging around at home...

Never a fan of the two-part pliers/lock pin method, I simplified the process into a single piece unit, making mine from a paint roller handle that I straightened, then bent at the end. About a foot long, and makes the task much easier.

I had a steel wire that I bent so when I push on the tool I can just reach it without much movement. I wasn't a fan of the little tool that came with it. It was too short
