The 'dealer' was 163 miles away so my wife and youngest loaded up to check it out - my 10 year old son says we were going to buy the car for him.

When I first started it, the car had a knock, but I noticed it didn't make the noise if the clutch was in - so it may be a bearing?

Other than that - it drove great, made all the right growls and pops.

I drove the car and haggled a bit, but only got him down $300 to $4200 otd. Still a decent deal in my opinion.

The A/C doesn't work (dash light doesn't come on) - so I drove it back in 106 degrees. Should have brought the trailer, but it drove well at 70-80, sometimes up to 90. It did have a bit of a vibration at higher speeds, may be tires out of balance.

I'll take some new (honest) pictures and post more information as I put my list of items together.

 

How many miles?

On the AC, check to see if the low speed fan is running when you switch the AC on as if it is not working, it may be the fan resistor. There is a sticky in the Stock Problems/Issues section dealing with the issue.

 

Mileage is 104K - after some yard work tomorrow I plan on changing oil and coolant. I'll check the other levels and then drive it for a little while to see if there are any big items in need.

 

I can't seem to get this PC to recognize an SD card, but I found several surprises.

It has Milltek Sport Catback - and a header - not sure what brand of header.
The SC pulley has been changed, again not sure what % or brand.
It has and aftermarket CAI - sticker on the box says Helix, I don't think it is the JCW box.
There is an Alta Intercooler Air diverter
and a Coolingmist Methane injection kit- somewhat mounted in the boot.

I don't think it is lowered,it has 215/55/16 tires on it so it only has a couple of inches clearance at the wheel wells.

 

I would be very surprised if it has no suspension mods, given the methanol injection kit and other drivetrain mods.

The strut towers don't appear to be mushroomed, but the top motor mount has puked.

it has been replaced with a Megan Racing header.

The water injection pump and tank are on a board bungeed in the back.

 

After a teardown today, there are no suspension mods. Stock struts, springs, swaybars and brakes.

So if nothing pops up in the next few weeks, I know where my money will go.

 

Anyone know the diameter of the stock vs 15% pulley? I'd like to know what is installed.

Many AC units have the AC clutch fail, or the cooling fan fail, then the AC will not come on.

 

I've ordered a new resistor for the low speed fan connection.

Tail lights are badly fogged, one looks white. So I'll be shopping for some new, might go with the Spyder version.

 

Congrats looks like a good deal and it came with some mods.

 

I've replaced the taillights, restored the headlights, reupholstered the headliner, the resistor install fixed the A/C, the radio may have just been a loose connection as I was going to test the amp, but when I pulled it out of the fender I started to get sound, it's worked ever since (may have a blown PS speaker)

I bought an ODBC WiFi connector and have been using ODB Fusion for iphone - the CEL says rich mixture and small egr leak.

I have a Cravenspeed stubby, shift **** and dipstick, new spark plugs, LED front marker lights, and a radio **** on order.

Looks sharp. The front bumper cover on the left (driver side) is a little of in the pictures.

 

It is, I thought I was going to put it in service mode right away. I haven't had to, so I'll have to address that soon.

Drove my son to a college today, only 36 miles. While there the top cat came apart.

Even separation right on the bottom, so should be an easy weld repair.

Loud ride home.
