Allow Patina Finish

It seems that most people order their Mini's with the anthracite, silver or body colour finish but not often do I hear about people who have the Alloy Patina interior.
I would like to share some opnioins about this, because i feel like I'm the only one who likes the Alloy Patina .

I have it, and I like it.

The first MCS's didn't have a choice of interior trim, alloy patina was the only option. Then they allowed the silver finish from the MC's, and then introduced anthracite, which is gorgeous BTW. Now they've introduced body color, which can also be a nice choice.

There's nothing wrong with any of them, they are simply choices. Go with what you like and you can't go wrong.

Most people when they get in my car and see the patina finish think it's metal. They almost always touch it. A lot of them don't get that it's plastic right away and I have to tell them. It's held up great. The early models with the silver finish had some quality problems where the finish would come off or peel easily. I think they've fixed that now. Haven't heard of those problems with any of the other finishes, though the body colored hasn't been out long enough to tell.

I love the Alloy Patina, I think it looks like the finish of an old British metal dash or something, kind of like the effect they were going for on the dash of the BMW Z8

My 05 has Alloy Patena as well and I really like it! I didn't want a too bright interior, which the alloy patena certainly is not. You'll like it.

I like mine, don't like a high shine dash, and finger prints don't show to bad, real easy to keep clean. But I would consider the body colour option too.

My 03 MCS came with Alloy Patina finish which was on the 5 dash pieces and the oval door rings. Of note is that my center console downtubes, speedo/tach/shifter rings, dash air vent rings, speaker rings, and door horizontal pulls were of standard silver finish.

With the anthracite finish option all of the above parts are in anthracite!

Anthracite is the most durable finish of the three we had and silver was the least durable especially the door pulls and the center downtubes because they lack the clear coat.

Silver is very light and bright while anthracite is quite dark. I still have my alloy patina door ovals and they are doing well except for a small nick on one side.

I haven't seen many car dash interiors with an alloy patina finish so I think it is a good option. Most interiors are so drab

I like mine very much. It looks retro and does not show dirt or fingerprints.

I agree with all of the above. After two years mine is in perfect condition and a plus for me is that it's a good body color match........dark silver.

Alloy Patina looks good in brochure photos but a total dissapointment in person. The flat matte finish looks too fake to resemble real brushed metallic finish.

I originally ordered my '04 MCS with Alloy Patina way back when, but when I saw it in another MCS in the showroom and realized it came with the aweful, prone chipping/peeling white silver door pulls and dashboard down legs, I immediately changed the order from Alloy Patina to Anthracite which looks miles better and the finish is 1000 times more resistant to scratches and peeling in high wear areas such as the door pulls and dashboard center legs.

After 1 year, no regrets and Anthracite still looks perfect, best quality interior trim finish bar none.

Looks like a retro Beetle with the front grill painted on.

I went back and forth on Alloy Patina and Anthracite. I chose alloy patina and do not regret it. The Anthracite was too dark and too well, normal, for me. I wanted something different...

I love my Alloy Patina finish with my Lapis Blue interior. If I had black leather though, the Antracite looks best. If my next MINI is blue (instead of dark silver), I MAY opt for the blue dash. But in my current MINI, I like the Alloy Patina best and I like the look A LOT.

I'm with Greatgro: Alloy Patina and Lapis Blue are a kick-a** combo. I've been enjoying mine for almost two years now. I'd get it again if I ordered a new MCS today.

I've had the alloy patina/space grey cloth combo for coming up on 2 years now and still love it. I've had many favourable comments on it, and no unfavourable ones (that I could hear). That said, if I could get the anthracite headliner and body colour dash on an orange MCS from the factrory, I might do that.
