Motoringfile has the 02, 03, and 04 Owners Manuals as PDF files, but no 05 yet. Does anyone know the location of an 05 owners manual file? I assume that the car is being shipped with one, so there must be some out there.

 

Once I had a VIN on my 04 I could download the manual PDF from the Owner's Lounge. You might give that a try.

 

Just looked and the PDFs on the Owner's Lounge are still 2004.

What, theres no one out there with an 05 Mini, a a scanner and a copy of Acrobat? C'mon guys, this is 2004 - world of tech. Get on the stick. I get my car Thursday, I'll have a manual on PDF by Monday when I get home. The benefit is to have it BEFORE I pick up the car!

 

As far as taking a scanner and Acrobat to the manual, I would say that, "Reprinting, including excerpts, only with the written consent of BMW AG, Munich." (as listed on pg 2 of the 04 manual) probably is a deterrent for most people.

 

In a world of audio and video piracy, prosecuting someone for publishing a car operating manual where there is no profit involved is so far-fetched as to be ludicrous. What possible damages could BMW claim?

Get a grip - all the manuals from previous years are on the net - they HELP BMW sell cars. Prosecution is out of the question - besides, "reprinting" is a meaningless term in the computer world - I don't have to "print" anything to create an image file.

I hope you didn't rmove that tag from your mattress - the cops may be breaking in any minute to arrest you.

 

MINI manual with the car is OK, but the manual for the HK radio is very sparse in regards to actual information. I am supposed to have speed volume control on my HK radio, but it doesn't come up on the menu. The "manual" is no help. Is there anyone that has some information I can use?

You are right that prosecution is unlikely, but it is possible through the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. And that is a deterrent.

BMW will release it soon and all will be well...
