ProCharged Mini??

So, has anyone ever heard of one? Or thought about doing one? No so much the brand name, but the concept, basically a belt driven turbo.

For SERIOUS power I'm sure it could be done, just a matter of making it work. There is a guy in my hometown with an old GTO with a ProCharger and he has dyno sheets for 1000+ HP at the wheels!

Maybe one day when I have a ton of money to blow...

the roots is a better compact design, I think that would be the first limit. a centrifugal supercharger (procharger) is great for the top end, but suffers on the low end where roots holds all the way. twin screw is just a more efficient roots. RMW has been working with a TVS supercharger TVS900 I believe for an upgrade.

I also don't know many centrifugal chargers. so I wouldn't know if there is even one properly sized for our car. all the ones I can think of are the v8 applications. they hang off the side of the block and take up a considerable amount of space

you made me curious, I am actually looking at procharger right now, between the b-1 and the c-1 would be the most ideal, and I guess the volute diameter is decently small... 7''

so I guess if you could mount to the block, in theory it could work, I would lean more towards the c-1 since our engine will handle 17 psi easilly

RMW put a lot of time and effort into a possible Rotrex kit for a while, but it never really panned out, good numbers when it worked (top end power), but it was a custom and expensive install, and there were many tuning issues with the factory ECU, I think they basically stopped messing with them when the TVS ideas came about, and while it shows promise, it's been 3 yrs or so and still nothing definite about it either.

The r53 came out in 2002, if there isn't a better turbo or supercharger option yet, we aren't getting one. The factory eaton does the job the best.
