Just purchased a 2006 mini cooper s - weird interior

So I just bought my wife a 2006 Mini Cooper S today. I got it from a guy in Las Vegas. The car has some transmission problems so I got the car for a decent price. The one thing about it is, I have never seen an interior like this. What do you guys know about it?? Is it custom?

To my knowledge, Mini never offered that upholstery as an option so it's a custom job. No idea from where but it does look very cool.

Back in the olden days, like 10 years ago, it was called 'You-A-Fication'. People actually bought stock MINI Coopers and immediately started to 'Mod' them. That is one fine example of extreme upholstery work. I imagine the original owner had an ant like pet name for it. Overall, the car looks to be in excellent condition, well maintained.
Good luck with the automatic gear box.

Custom for sure... That would have been a turn off for me, UNLESS I got it at a steal and then good seat covers would cover that up in a hurry. Only way to kinda make it work is to add some of that color else where. On the stripes, mirror covers, beltline or somewhere.. but in the end, if you like it that is all that matters..

I'm thinking it reminds me of Ant Man?

Ya kinda! I'm just going to find some stock black headrests. I honestly really like the seats other than that. It looks to be very well done. All stitches look perfectly even. And my wife likes it. For $5500 I don't think we did too bad.

I get the idea. The MINI is small, but has a big "bite." Like Ant Man, small but strong! I agree though, I'd just remove that on the headrest. It's definitely unique and looks to be well done.
