Wiper arm covers

One of my wiper arm covers came off and got lost. It turns out there are two versions and the earlier version is NLA. I purchased one (passenger side) online that was listed as compatible with 2006 R52 and it is the wrong one. I assume I got the new style.

I was going to purchase a replacement arm from a junk yard and want to get the new style, but have no idea how to identify new versus old style arms. It is difficult to tell from pictures.

Thoughts?

What was the part number for the one you ordered?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the old style cover from the junk yard and return the new style one for a refund?

The one that I purchased only cost me $5.50 and it will cost me half that to send it back.

I was trying to find a used new style arm w/ cover knowing I would then have a spare.

I have not looked for any junk yards that will sell just the old style cover. I have found a yard in FL that is selling the complete arms for $25 shipped w/ "Best Offer" (they usually take the reasonable offers I make). I just can't tell from the pictures if they are new or old style since I have never seen a new style.

This has been a PITA for a small part that blew off somehow!

It's not like it is needed to operate. It is just driving me nuts knowing it's missing.

According to real OEM, part number 61-61-7-248-409 is compatible with the R53 and the R52. The previous part number was 61-61-1-497-071 and has superseded to 61-61-7-248-409. The wiper arm cover ending in 409 is only in conjunction with wiper arm 61-61-7-248-407. You can PM me your VIN and I can confirm the correct wiper cover part for you if you'd like.
