Just got off the phone for my daily call to 1.866.ASK.MINI to check on status. The representative said that as of 11.5, it had a "service item" or something that still hadn't been completed. He said it wasn't all that unusual and that it might only be a scratch during shipping (YIKES) or a recall fix between production and VDC (although he didn't know of any recent recalls). He said once the fix was completed, it would be part of the permanent warranty history and the dealer would be able to get more details on what exactly was accomplished during this step. Any ideas what could be the problem? I guess this could explain why it has been at VDC for awhile.
