Independent MINI Service Center in Hawaii

I have been talking to some friends and they will soon be servicing MINIs. Typical service items are already in stock as this need has been anticipated since the 3/36 MINI free service on the first MINIs sold in 2002 will expire soon.

They are also going to be a service center that will install aftermarket goodies to pep up your MINIs.

They are so committed to the MINI, Eric Savage has been offered the use of the service bays and lifts if there is a Hawaii Pulley Party.

greeeaaattt news!

i'm already getting up to my 2nd service, probably by the summer. i was already starting to get a little antsy about the post-free-maintenance blues, that surely woulda strained me financially.

Andrew - I'll call you in the afternoon about the details.

As far as labor rates, I know the dealer charges @$100 hr, the independent is @ $80 hr, but I'm not sure. They said they will also give discounts to the MINI Club.

EDIT: I was told the dealer is now $103 hr and the independent is $89 hour.

Sorry folks. The shop will not be hosting the Pulley Party as they will be concentrating on work with another tuner.

Bit confused.....is this only for the pulley party or they won't be working on MINIs after all?

They will be working on MINIs, but won't be doing the pulley party. They are flying in another MINI tuner to show them the installs of their product. After that, they will be doing maintenance and tuning of MINIs.

I see. But they won't tell you who the "other" MINI tuner is, or you won't tell us? What's with the secrecy

no secrecy

OK , I don't want this issue to get out of hand and mostly don't want Beastmaster to get in trouble. or anyone else!
I guess the owner of the shop has his reasons not to host the party. But I am not sure It has anything to do with the other tuner.
BME & Eastsidemini is bringing Dr.Peter Horvath from M7tuning here to do a tech session, how to, whats new on the market and q&a for the staff of BME. But All mini owner and enthusiast are welcome to join us. Its in the final planning stage on the date, It will most likely to be on the first weekend of March and I will send out a program for the event. DON"T MISS IT!!!

Sorry, sorry, don't want anyone to get in trouble (especially the_beastmaster or you). Just thought it was weird the way it was thrown out - sorry again for stirring this up.

Hey great news about M7 coming.

bgrpph

bgrpph, Peter will do the training for the service staffs at BME, he will cover from pulleys, heads, twinscrew super-charger, AGS, nitrous kit, injectors, flywheel and more.. But he won't be doing any specific installations unless someone has ordered an AGS, Nitrous kit or twinscrew super-charger or injectors. Do you have anything in particular you want to order and put on? Let me know and I'll run it by him.
