Windshield sprayer not working

I have a 2002 Mini Cooper s and I noticed that the front windshield sprayed will not spray any fluid out. It does however spin the pump, I disconnected the line from the pump and it does not come out the front connection but it does come out the back, would this be a clog? Is there a way to fix this? Right now I have the back one switched to the front as the front is more important. Any help would be great thanks

Silly question, but you did confirm there is fluid in the reservoir correct? Check out this thread here on NAM for some good suggestions. Here is also another one. Let us know what you find out.

I had the same problem with mine. You will need to pull back the insulation under the hood so that you can get to the fluid lines. I had one that came loose from one of the plastic T's....and was directing the washer fluid someplace other than where it was supposed to go (it was just spraying out under the hood)

I fixed that...and I was back in business.

Yes there is fluid in the reservoir. And the thing I was saying about the fluid not coming out the front side of the pump, was that I accessed the actual pump itself, disconnected the line from the pump, and pressed the front wiper fluid button and you could hear the pump running but not squirting out, but when I do it for the back wiper sprayer it works.

well as you know, there is one pump and an electric valve that sends the fluid out one way or the other

sounds like this valve or the relay that controls it is bad

wiring diagram I have shows two relays, one for front and one for rear, but identical parts. You could try swapping them to test. I have a hand written note that says they are behind the driver side kick panel. I guess I went hunting for this somewhere along the way!

if this is not the problem the additional bad news is the circuit does involve the omni present general control computer . . .

PM me if you want a copy of the diagram and include an e-mail I can send to.
