My new toy! 05 MCS

Recently picked up this purple haze 05 with 86,000. I don't know how the previous owner kept the interior so clean but it looks brand new. He had already installed a 15% Alta pulley, Alta CAI, and performance front bushings. After I picked it up I ditched the stock sized tires and replaced them with 205/50/16's and 3mm wheel spacers. I also added a Hotchkis comp rear sway bar and Craven strut tower defenders. And more to come!

Took it up to the N. Georgia mountains today and wow does this car rail the turns! Loads of fun.

Welcome! Nice looking car... too bad MINI had to be PC in the U.S. and change the name to Purple Haze... Black Eye Purple is much more MINI like.

Such a great factory color and I sure do love it! Hotchkis makes great products. If you plan to lower your MINI, also look into the Hotchkis Adjustable Rear Control Arms to help prevent abnormal tire wear. Otherwise, be sure to enjoy it and its cornering speeds! It's always nice getting a car that was well maintained, mechanically and aesthetically.

Thanks everyone! After some new seals and basic maintenance I'm thinking lowering springs may be next. Do they improve the handling performance or are they mostly for looks?
