Drivers side wheel, 2 wires ?

OKay was changing my outer tie rod today adn got confused.
I have two sets of wires or hoses i dunnno running to the drivers wheel.

One goes into the top of the hub which im assuming is my ABS.

I also have a set which is oddly hanging off my bleeder for my brakes?

What is this other one ?

Should also be a wire to the brake pad for the wear sensor

Yeah it's this guy, you'll need a new one or you'll have a pretty dash light.

Sometimes when being reused the sensor won't stay in, or they just come disconnected. The light will only come on I believe, if contact worn into.

If you remove a worn sensor and don't replace you continue to get the light, jumper it and the computer 'sees' a new sensor

the way to jumper out the sensor is to cut the end off and connect the two ends together allowing the computer to 'see' a completed circuit, then you just tuck/tie the wire out of the way.

Some folks think the sensors are not worth a dime so jumper and tuck

on my 7, sensor snipped off, wires soldered and shrink wrapped:

SENSORS ..... we don't need no damn sensors! HaHaHaHaHa

If you find such a wire to nowhere and you trace back and REMOVE it from the connector .... the computer will see an open circuit which = WORN SENSOR and the light comes on . . .

The sensor will only give a light if it is activated, i.e. wore down.

Yep, there is one brake pad wear sensor and it is on the front left wheel. 34-35-6-778-175 here is fairly inexpensive and not a bad idea to replace when you do your brakes. Some good info and how to remove/install it here.

On a gen1 the only way it turns on is if the electrical connection is severed...so a cutvwire, or a worn sensor, aka a cut wire at the pad will turn on the light...
There is no impedance change detection to give % wear on the gen1 cars...gen2 car do this..sorta...that is why it is easy to jumper the gen1 or reuse the sensor...
