Can I remove the driver's seat without airbag light if I disconnect the battery first

I might be removing my driver's seat to take it to a local upholstery shop. Wondering if I can avoid the airbag light coming on, if I disconnect the battery first before removing the seat??

You need to run a resistor to avoid the light coming on. 3.9 ohm I blieve is what is used.

The airbag system will do a self-check when you turn the key on, so unless you play with the ignition while the seat is out, you should be good.

So, would disconnecting the battery completely,....insure that an airbag light would not be triggered?

Soprry think I read your inital post wrong. IF your not going to be starting or driving the car without the original seat your fine with the battery disconnected. I have had my doors off mine for painting the last week (air bag sensor in the door) without moving the car battery out, put it all back together yesterday and it's fine no light.

It will be fine as long as you leave it disconnected. I just swapped my seats with no lights. Plan ahead on whether you want windows up or down.... I've been caught... I also place a floor mat across the rear hatch latch so it doesn't latch with the battery disconnected.

There's still the release cable under the rear seat for that.
