Out Of Town?

I am leaving out of town tommarow and was wondering what I should do about my MCS. Is it safe to just leave my MCS alone for the next 4 months. What should I do with my MCS when I get back. Also I've just change the oil at the 5000 mark and I am at 5800 now. Should I change the oil again when I get back. I dont want to hurt my car by leaving it alone for such a long time. Please Help. Thanks

I have heard of other people that had their cars sitting for long periods putting their car up on jack stands (to prevent flat spotting the tires).

Jack stands are usually less than $20.00 (pair) at any auto parts store - I think for 4-months you are ok with just leaving it in a garage with maybe a car cover over it. I'd disconnect the battery and make sure the anti-freeze is topped off if you live somewhere that it might freeze while you are gone.

It's not a miata, and it's not winter, but you should be able to wean this list: http://www.miata.net/faq/faq3.html#Y to a reasonable size.

Of course I'd be happy to take good care of it in your absence.

No problem. Get a full tank of gas, pump up the tires to 40psi.
If the car is garaged and secure, unplug the battery.

That's about all you need to do.
When you get back, check tire pressure (lower it as needed),
plug the battery back on, and just drive.
