I'll make it brief:

'06 Cooper S with 100k. I wan't to replace the transmission fluid and can't seem to find a good source on which to buy.

After all my digging, i believe this is what I want:

Can someone just confirm that this is the correct oil?

Thank you!

Go to a Chevy dealer and pickup some GM/AC Delco Synchromesh Friction Modified Fluid, GM part# 88900399.

I have been running Redline MTL for 150,000 miles of smooth shifting. Changed every 50,000 and no problems what so ever.

Does having a factory LSD change these recommendations?

Red Line also provides an easy to use application guide here. I've run their products and have no complaints. For the manual '05 S MTL 75W80 GL-4 quart is what you're wanting.

I know Motul makes a specific 300 LS for LSD's.

With the factory LSD, you want the OEM Texaco MTF94 or Redline MTL (75W80).

Without the factory LSD, you can use a lighter gear oil like BMW LT-3 (which
is what comes in such boxes stock) or a suitable replacement like Redline D6
(yes, ATF, but it works well in this manual application and is the closest oil to
LT-3). You can also use MTF94 or Redline MTL in a non-LSD R53 manual box,
but you might not like it as much if you have cold winters where you live.
MPG might drop 1 mpg or so as well with the heavier oil.

I've used the redline MTL with and without LSD and it works great. Usually find it shifts a little smoother too.
