Can you believe it?!?!?!?

Here I am making final arrangements to fly down to get my car next week and I get a call saying that it's smashed and gone.... They say that is was like somone drove it into something and smashed the front end beyond repair.

Now hopefully I'll get in the November build for delivery in January...does that just totally suck or what

I was sooooooooooooooooooo close to getting it. I could taste it....now I have to wait till after Christmas...I'm so depressed...

I am REALLY sorry to hear about this....what a FREAK accident! I sure hope they were endlessly apologetic to you.....I can't believe that they would let something like this happen. They should go above and beyond to get you the earliest production date possible because of their mistake....you shouldn't have to wait around because of someone else's negligence.

well they did squeeze me into this month's build and I did get to change to the anthracite from the alloy patina so that is cool...

It's actually pretty funny since I was so jacked up about it...oh well, it will be that much sweeter when I finally do get to drive my new MINI....

Patty - can I drive your's again?

Dude that sucks bigtime.

Any help from your dealer or Mini?

Very sorry to hear it.

Really sorry to hear that picoman, as someone who is nearly in the same boat (wrecked by some idiot woman who blew threw a stop sign 18 1/2 hours into the life of my MINI), I feel your pain and truly can be empathetic. It's the waiting game all over again! It makes it even more difficult. Good luck! Maybe you can get your dealer to toss in a few extra options next time around!

Aw damn!
Pico. Here's your chance. Be patient, generous -- but firm. MINI USA and your dealer really need to come through for you on this one. Follow the above advice and stongly request the earliest possible build date. You should also get some package or options for no extra cost. Don't demand, but ask, ask, ask.

Seldom is something like this so clearly begging for velvet glove treatment to make things right. Chat up your dealer and get him/her on your side.

Look at the bright side....better pre-delivery than post.
Be careful out there and I hope your 'new' Mini arrives
soon!!

Thanks for the kind words everyone...

I'm not going to press MINI too hard for anything other than the typically nice attitudes that I've encountered here at my local dealership and at the Salt Lake one where I'm going to get my car.

It's one of those things in life...s--- happens and it wasn't anyone's fault and it wasn't intentional so I'm not worrying about it.

I did decide to change my order...and I changed my color. I was getting the Indy blue on the first one and on this one I'm switching to Electric blue. It was toss up earlier so now I'll try something new...

She'll be an MCS, EB/W every option but the nav, black leather, anthracite, bonnet stripes, aero kit, rally lights, white tail light cluster, R90 rims and I'll be swapping out the stereo and even perhaps trying to install the aftermarket wood dash kit.

Cheers all!

I've had my car for a couple months now (BRG), and I'm still changing colors in my mind, adding stripes.....etc. Funny thing is, I still haven't settled on what color I really really want!

Did the dealer show proof that your specific vehicle really has been totaled? I've heard similar stories with other rare makes of cars (land rover defenders) that were really all about a dealer selling your car to some rich a-hole that offered more money to pull the rug from under your feet.

YuccaPatrol has a good point but wont you find out the real status of your order by tracking it?. If it was damage in transport and returned to the factory it should say so or something to that effect. Just my thought.
