1 Expensive Mini

Yikes- a $30,000 used MCS

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31861

Dumb question, are HRE rims Swiss (ie. the neutrality cross in the middle?)???

Rim envy tho

Somebody needs to tell this guy that mods decrease a car's value, not increase it.

Unless of course you can find the right buyer...

It's got a lot of goodies in it. I like the JL audio stuff and the big brakes. HRE wheels for 8k? Forget that!

I have invested $30,000 dollars in extras in this car, so the total price comes out to around $60,000
What! MSRP is now $30k? And, who ripped him off for thirty grand? IMO, it is still pretty bland for a show car. Oh well. Good luck to the high bidder!

If you read the description it says the car comes with the HRE wheels.....and that he paid $7,000 for them

Actually...

That isn't too bad considering that car's MSRP with nav leather seats etc was probably around 26k. Dealer markup in CA $2500-3500 from what I've seen. The wheels are nice but too expensive brakes are cool. Stereo looks awesome (too big for my tastes though). Don't like the aero kit (read rear) but to each their own.

Don't know about 30k in mods but there is definately a lot of money in there.

Sure is a bad **** little car for $30k with only 4500 miles. If you wanted to mod a new one you'd spend more going with lower quality stuff.

Just a thought,
Patrick

Now, that explains the higher price. I must have missed that one in the configurator.

He bought all hamann stuff, no wonder he has to sell his car. And wow, 7k for hre wheels...OK, either he's a ******* or is lying about what he paid. I bet he'd really cry if he curbed one of those. I bet he has more money in the stereo than anything, but by the looks of it, he has sponsorships from hamann and jl audio, which means he probably didnt spend much money at all if any. Dont get me wrong, it looks sharp, but i can't believe someone bid 30k on it, but with the 05 minis getting up to 44k, i guess thats not so bad...

His one big misunderstanding is the use of the word "investment". Unless he is going to keep his car for 25+ years and keep the mileage way low, no car is an investment regardless what you spend on it.

This is a pretty expensively modded MCS. Lots of show- pretty heavy with all those audio upgrades. Not bad for $30K. Good shape. 4500 miles.
I'd say that it was about $30K of upgrades. Pretty easy to spend $$$ with custom audio upgrades and the Hamann brand upgrades.

Originally a 2004 MCS with Nav and leather, sunroof

Major options and prices
$7,000 HRE high polished and clear coat 18 inch by 8.5 wheels with Pirrelli tires
$2,000 AP Racing brakes with red calipers
$2,000 Hamann exhaust with headers with polished exhaust tips
"Racing sway bars and upgraded suspension with H&R springs"
Body color painted Hamann lip diffuser in rear, with Hamann rear roof spoiler
"speaker underneath the center console"
Hamann floor mats both front and back, with a Hamann gear shifter and Hamann etched racing pedals and Hamann ethced brake lever
"new type of halogen light, which comes out a purple white instead of white"
"sun roof, with a medusa on etched glass"
Custom audio-
3 JL Audio amps, Focal Utopias in the front, and Focal Utopias in the back as well. A 10 inch JL Audio W7 in custom enclosures

Ask for the original wheels!!!!

In my searches before deciding upon my Konig wheels, I saw that HRE wheels are insanely priced. That $7K price he says the wheels are worth, sounds true. The average price for an individual 18" HRE wheel runs about $1500. Then if you choose different finishes, caps, etc, that kicks it up more.
Then of course Hamann parts are added to the car, which is also known to have insanely priced parts.
Looks like he trying to get back everything he put into the car. Just doesn't work that way.
Also, he says that Hamann did the car up for him. Now who knows if they supplied him with the parts for free in return for a photo session and/or demo of their products. Either way, there's some of the most expensive parts out there, that were put onto that MINI. Granted, it seems like a great machine, but with him trying to get back every dollar spent, it seems a little too ridiculous.
And what's with the 6cyl crap? Unless he's actually done an engine swap. But he didn't list it in the desciption. A typo or a decieving loser? Hmmm which one. Not sure what wheels those are in the lower left pic there. The HRE wheels are the 11 spoked ones. Not sure if they're Swiss made or not. But they seem to cater more to European cars. Anyways, they cost too damn much for me to justify.
Cheerio,
