Stick or Automatic ?

What do you prefer and why?

I'm about 50 and have a hip problem. Traffic is not bad but at rush hour it's stop and go.

Thx

Whatever your are most comfortable with, personally I'd stick to a manual unless I could no longer drive one. Drive both if you can then make your decision.

All the best,

Will

We'll the cvts are total crap, so unless upu want to replace your tranny every 50k I'd get a manual.

I understand where you're at. I'm 80 years old. I traded a six speed manual FR-S for my '13 base MINI hardtop with an automatic. The car is very enjoyable. It's nice to be at a point in life where I can kick back, relax and enjoy the ride.

I like my stick but it is a pain during bumper to bumper stop and go traffic.

I will be very nearly 70 by the time I get this car. I've stirred the gears enough. My test drive in the auto was enough to convince me to go with the auto. It shifts quickly and smoothly and the car is still a blast to drive.

Well, I love my auto with the paddle shifter. When we bought the Clubman, it was decided that the wife would be driving it some, and she doesn't do well with a manual. I was a little bummed at first, but have grown to love it.

I really like having the automatic, since I use mine for a daily commute that involves a lot of stop and go traffic. The paddle shifters are a great feature and when I am in the mood, I just pop it into manual mode and manually shift to my heart's content. I have the older transmission on my 07 but the new ones have a different and I believe more dependable transmission in them. I haven't had any issues with mine, I might add.
