I am on the same boat and schedule!!. I hope it doesn't take too long for the car to go from NJ to Mini of Manhattan. Plus my lease return is due on the 10th of July, this way I don't have to rent a car for too long.

Are we going to be the last of the 04's?

same here

I'm on the same cruise folks...my Windy must go a bit further though...to Illinois then for some work...brake pads, clear rear lamps, aero kit and body color paint, stripes, had hoped to get the windows tinted but looks like that's a no-go this time...does around $300 sound reasonable to install brake pads? yes they are all getting closer now...this next few weeks will be murder!!!

I'd say we're definetly at the end of the 04 production. The July people are saying their cars have already started production and they are all '05s.

Hey Turandot shipmates! We sail tomorrow! Our ship departs at 1800 (6pm) I've got 2 call signs for it, not sure why there are 2 but, whatever. C6KJ6 and SGBA. Hopefully our captain will report his position or this is going to be a very quiet 8 day voyage.

Yes please... how do we track the ship? I was able to get to see which ports it has arrived and sailed from, and the schedule. But can we actually see where it is while crossing the ocean?

Thanks,
Nando

http://www.oceanweather.com/data/

is the site. You need the current marine data view. Turandot's call sign is SGBA Haven't seen it posted yet on oceanweather. Hopefully the capt'n will report. It's a voluntary sysem so they don't have to report, but it sure makes it more interesting for us when they do!

8 days to land, do you think they're getting used to their "sea wheels" yet? I hear there's a cocktail reception on deck 3, 92 octane for all!

Turandot Photo

Hello my fellow Turandot shipmates. Surfed around some and came up with a pic of the good ship Turandot. For more info on the ships in WW's line check this link: http://www.walleniuslines.com/the_fleet.jsp?art_id=77 it should lead to some more interesting facts.

Now, if our ship would just report, we could have that to obsess over too.

The Turandot captain reports!

Hey, score one for us Turandot folks, the captain reported! The first report was at 00 GMT and the next one I saw was at 1200 GMT Our position currently is 48N 16:30W. Currentl sailing with a not-so-nice headwind of 35knots. Look in the upper right area of the map, call sign SGBA

Thanks for the update Pezhead444, I'll post your update on the "other" site. You know, the one with all the little car icons We've been wondering where you were.

Hi All,
our MCS is on the Hual Triton (call# C6QA4), expected in LA on July 12th.
Anyone else got a mini on the same boat? Anyone found where she is? I looked on Oceanweather but can't find her!

Cheers!

I think I am the only one who was on the Emden, but if not, after a long delay my MCS is now listed at the VPC with a scheduled delivery date of 7/7/2004. Wow, that's fast. I ordered this car on the 30th of June, gosh I'm glad I'm not in California. I don't know how you guys wait all of those months. I wouldn't have the patience.

Hi pezhead444, I have you down in the June production group on MINI2.com. but I must have mixed your first post here on NAM with those on MINI2. My apologies. A bunch of us over there are obsessively tracking too. Some of us are on both sites.

Hi GuysIt's July 7th, the Turandot is supposed to unload today. As of this moment there is no updated info on the WW site.

I did get a call from my dealer saying that the car is delayed in customs, and I won't be able to take delivery until Tuesday July 13.... She has BS'ed me in the past; but I am optimistic that she got good info on when the truck will deliver the car to the dealer. It's not far from the docks to Mini of Manhattan.

Yea for July 7th! This is the period of "information vacuum". Once W & W lists the cargo as discharged, we'll get very little information, if any. Your dealer said your car is delayed in customs? I wonder if that's the new port security that she's speaking of. Some of us on the owners' lounge were wondering about that very thing. Hopefully the delay wont be too long. If your delivery is estimated for 7/13, then maybe 7/17 won't be unreasonable for us. Our car has to get to Classic MINI in Mentor, Ohio

Just think, their little wheels are on US soil now. I wonder if they know how lucky they are???

I just noticed that the Turandot changed departure from NY from 7/7 to 7/8. I guess things are running late. The car is still listed as being on the boat. As a matter of fact I checked (by booking number) and as of 3:30 EDT, all Minis are still on the boat.

I know my dealer is BS'ing me as far as the car being detained in customs. I wanted to pick up on the weekend (when my lease car is due) so she is giving me a canned excuse. So I have to rent a car for a few days. I doubt it's being detained...

I suggest calling your dealer, and ask them to expedite sending the car to them(you). I did this, and that is why I think the car will be here in less than a week.
It is gonna be a sloooooow week.
