I can vouch for that, changed the fuel filter with no change.. Will be changing my fuel pressure regulator, copper line, filter and v line tomorrow so will keep you posted on the results.

Changed the fuel regulator and copper fuel line, gave all that area a clean and triple checked connections.. Have had no idle issue since, even after a week of super spirited driving so will keep it going another week and update... Fingers crossed

Just the head, upgraded (coated) S/C, pulley, exhaust, and 200HP tune.

In my particular case it was the 380's and JCW tune. I'm leaning more towards this being a software issue.

Still no issues since the new fuel assembly,
I am not so sure on this being a software issue at all... The car i have now never did this prior to summer last year and the ecu has not been touched. And the fact we get this issue across the board... Cooper s, jcw or home brew remaps... It points to a degrading part in my opinion,

Also anyone who smells fuel through your air vents should also change the fuel assembly.

Perhaps the software is not handling abrupt changes in vacuum pressure, an intermittant problem for sure.

No the issue was the fuel assembly, tiny bit of vapour escaping which was exacerbated by the heat/fan through the vents. Lots complain about the slight smell of fuel, some even think its normal, so as proven not always a serious problem, old cars stink of fuel it comes with age so lets not scaremonger people

i realise it’s been a few years

I was wondering if you replaced the fuel rail or the fuel pipe running down the car to the fuel tank ?

thanks

did you change the line from the fuel pump to the pressure regulator and the regulator to resolve the issue ?
