Well thats lame. There not that complicated. European transmission sells a video, but its $145.00
They're considered a replaceable unit. The CVT is actually fairly complicated but that really isn't what it is about. It is really about TAT (Turn Around Time). Working on a tranny can take a lot of time rather than doing a swap, so, most dealers will avoid doing that level of work.

MiniMania has a lot of CVT parts and diagrams, but no instructions, per se.

I know that's not much help, though.

I've pulled the CVT out of my 2003 and got it mostly torn down. Everything looks good inside, I think I just need a new belt. I'm going to replace the friction discs and seals as well, since I'm already in there. Have you figured out how to pull the drive pulley and clutch pack? It has the pin nut on the flywheel side and a huge nut behind the pump. According to Herb at europeantransmissions, I shouldn't have to take it apart, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how it's held in there. And of course, there is no documentation out that shows how to do it. I'm seriously thinking of getting that video from them as well.
And they're not that complicated. This transmission appears to be a lot less complicated than the zf19hp6 transmission I rebuilt in my 530i. I think they just want people to believe that so they spend $5-8G to have it replaced. Only difference is, Alldata has the instructions for the zf19hp6, but not the zfvt1f. If I can figure it all out, I'll try to put it together and then use my GoPro to film the disassembly for anyone else that wants to attempt it.

You dont need to pull the pin nut. The clutch pack is held in with a snap ring. I'm going to modify a socket to get the pin nut off. I'm replacing all the seals. Can you tell me how many check ***** are in the valve body though? I count one.
So they don't show how to replace the belt, eh? I haven't taken the valve body apart on this one, just my 530i. If I do, I'll be sure to let you know. I have a buddy in the car repair industry and he's trying to find me that pin socket. If he can't, I'm going to do the same. Get a socket just a bit smaller and weld rods to the outside of it.
So does your video show the reassembly of the pulleys? Or how to get the belt back on?

The video shows how to replace the belt without taking the pulleys apart. I managed to get the pin nut off,but the pulley just didn't come apart after that. So I sent them a email asking how it comes apart after you remove the nut. At the end of the email it shows the valve body with the check *****. There are two. I'm missing one. I wouldn't bother taking the pulley apart, but I want to make sure everything is clean plus I have all new seals.
Ahhh.... I guess I don't really need to pull the pulleys apart, but I do need to know how the whole shaft with the clutch pack and pulley slides out so that I can replace the belt. What is holding the assembly in the case?
There's large nuts on both shafts that need to come out also the pitot needs moved or it will get broken or bent when you pull the case apart. The video is helpful for disassembly also.
That's the part I'm not sure about. I removed the pitot that's on the pump, pulled the pump, and then I see the nut. I'm assuming you're referring to another pitot. Can you describe where this is? And when you loosen this large nut, do you have to hold anything on the other end? Do you remember what size it is? I have a Harbor Freight nearby, so I'm hoping they'll have the size. And the statement about pulling the case apart - the case is already apart, that's how I know about the pin nut. Or did you just cut and paste from their website?
Yes there is pitot under the pump. As for the nut I'm not sure what size it is. No there is nothing to hold just use a impact gun on it. That's what herb uses. My tranny was all apart I had to order both nuts. If the pully turns you will need to hold with your hand.
So I went to Harbor Freight today and got a 3/4" socket set. Got the nuts off. I understand now where the pitot tube is, but can't figure out which way you need to turn it so that it's out of the way to pull the shaft assembly out without damaging it. Full clockwise or counterclockwise? Or somewhere in between?
