Oohhhhh, YES!!!!

I finally  have my MINI Cooper S!!!

Thank you to Julie at Classic Mini in Ohio, to Fred from Concours and Cornell the truck driver. My MINI arrived in beautiful condition and ready for a little get acquainted drive on Saturday. What great timing, since NAM was migrating anyway. Sunday was bath day, and the rest of the week, inbetween driving and stuff, she'll get her parcel shelf, clear bra, and new shoes, Rotas wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s, and whatever else I can think of!

First impressions are very good, no hesitation on acceleration, everything very tight and rattle free. Oh, she's pepper white all over, pkgs 1 & 3, Lapis with alloy patina inside.

Shelly

Hurray, Shelley! Please get some pics posted soon! She (?) sounds very pretty! I still remember taking delivery of my first MINI on Aug. 28, 2002, like it was last week; and Wanda, on April 4, 2003, like it was yesterday! Wanda has over 33,000 miles on her odometer......all fun! May you have just as much fun in your new baby!

Congrats, now you can do the next MINI run in a MINI instead of a Porsche! I have had my S for a few months now and the honeymoon is still not over - I still park several blocks away from busy parking lots; I have a duster, quick detail, and microfiber polishing cloths in the boot that I use daily; and I take the long way to work every day.

Congrats SeaShelly!!! The fun is just beginning!!! LOL Rick, I've had my MINI for 9 months now, and the honeymoon is far from over for me as well! I've just gotten more efficient doing the things that I do. Now I can wipe my wheels clean in under 30 seconds--what used to take many minutes--not that I cared much of course.

I'm now using the Costco Microfibers--what an awesome deal. Super plush 10 pack for around $10, and they are big. I keep them everywhere--even just to wipe the dust off.

Oohhhhh, YES!!!!

Congrats, Shelly! I've had my MCS for less than two months feel as if I regress at least a few (ahem ten+) years every time I drive it. We'll see you around. Congrats again.

I gotta second that. Last night I went to Speed Zone for a birthday party, it's a go cart track, and it was pretty boring. The real fun happened when I left the parking lot and was back in my MINI. Hahaha, driving on those tracks makes you so competitive, but because there is no horsepower, it all happens at a very slow pace. Jump into the MINI and watch out.

Thanks everyone, for sharing the luv!
Donna, I sure hope we cross paths, even tho so far we've only met up on scheduled drives!
Rick, you bet I'm looking forward to doing runs in my own MINI!
TMGRobyn, can we take a rain check on those desert runs until fall weather?? Unless of course you meant dessert runs!

Pics!! Ryan, I would love to post pics! Don't know if the gallery is up yet (haven't had time to search!, I need to find an image hosting site!)

'Course, this week turns out to be busier than most, I've only put about 135 miles on the car, most of that driving home! And then I had to wash her, and after that, I had to claybar, and well, I couldn't leave that nice, clean, naked paint unprotected, to I had to Zainos!

And since I knew she'd be getting a clear bra, I figured I'd install the aero grilles, except after I got the bonnet grille in I decided that look wasn't for me after all, so I took the original back on. Total driving time on Sunday - zilcho, unless you count moving in and out of the garage. Dang, I don't have a daily commute, I'm gonna have to make one up, just so I can spend more time driving!

Put the parcel shelf in this afternoon, took less than 10 minutes, and half of that was finding and reading a how-to, clear bra and window auto up tomorrow, maybe get the new shoes on this weekend. And drive, and drive, and drive.

Wow, sure is funny to switch between the MINI and the pickup. In the truck, I have to remember to slow down for the curves, in the MINI, I have to remember to slow down for the curbs! Last night, I dreamed I was driving my MINI in a race, and passing other cars to take first. But it didn't last long, I missed a left turn because I didn't have a map or a navigator!

cheers,
Shelly
yes, I am happy now!

I am SOOOOOOO glad some else managed to get away from a dealership without getting stuck with the dreaded BRG jobs......I hear they are getting desperate and will soon start repatriating them....selling them to them Brits that made 'em and pained them so badly.........

Congrats! Great color choice! Our PW/PW is the 'spare' car, and is only used to take our bikes to races so we normally drive the IB/W. We'll look for you around town.

dessert runs!

MMMMmmmm! Dessert runs! Meet y'all at the Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Valley some Saturday!

Yes, Shelly, we can wait to do a desert run until say Nov or so. It'll be cool and nice and there are some great twisty roads! The Hemet - Idylwwild - Anza - Palm Desert - Hwy 74 is fun.

Congratulations on the new MINI. I also was a recipient of a Classic BRG MCS delivered by Concours in the previous ultimate MINI group buy only a month ago. Hands down it was the best way to get MINIZED. Getting to the last miles of the break in period should be done by this weekend then it real fun time.

Welcome to the machine!

pocketrocketowner, I carefully noted all the things you had to say about BRG jobs, so I knew I should stay away from those!

MiniCD, maybe I saw you today! NB 5 fwy, afternoon commute, was it you?

TMGRobyn, I know the roads you're speaking of! Yeehaw! And mmmmm, Cheesecake Factory and Dulce De Leche cheesecake, mmmmmm. Now I'm tempted to call my car 'Cheesecake'! Well, maybe not!

LizzyBobio, now I'll just be nervous and hesitant.

SCMCS, I'm jealous, at the rate I'm going, I won't be thru with breakin until winter!

Some Pictures!

Finally managed to get some pictures up over on mini2. And got Ian's auto up window thingy installed. Works great! Wish I woulda asked for 'track mode' as well, but I can always do it the old fashioned way. And I put the new tire/wheel set up on by myself, I'm so proud!

Just over 400 miles now, hopefully will be over 600 by week's end!
