squeaky windows

anyone else have "squeaky" windows? both my driver and passenger windows "squeak" when i hit almost any bump.

i can "feel" the squeaky-ness on the rubber on the door seals. it squeaks with my finger just about. so when the window is up, the tint rubbing against the door seal squeaks like a bastard. makes the car feel / sound cheap and its super annoying.

anyone else have this issue? think new door seals would fix it? at $35 a pop i would hope so, but dont want to buy the seals if its not going to work!

Use "back to black" on your door seals.

MINI and BMW used to use Gummi Pflege, but last I heard they are not using this anymore. , there is Carbaflo KSP 105 that is used now.

Gummi pfledge is great. Use it on all rubber seas every couple of years. No squeaks or deterioration even on the 12 year old 3 series convertible.

ordered that gummi flex stuff. so far ive applied it twice. i think its working! i still have some squeak on the driver side window, but much less than before, and i think its nearly gone from the passenger window too.

now if i can just figure out why the hatch is making a click type sound with every other little bump ill be happy. ive tried everything on that, stuffed insulation in there, ect, removed the rear plastic piece even, and the damn hatch still makes a click sound...

Great post! My 2006 just started squeaking @ 22K miles so now I have some options. Still can't believe it needs to be done @ 22K miles but that seems to be the Mini way...

ya tell me about it. i mean, the rubber is 6+ years old by now, but at the same time, i had a 1987 celica with frameless windows too, and never a squeak from that car with regards to the windows.

so what gives bmw?! whats with all the cheap rubber and plastic? :(
this is certainly the most annoying expensive car ive owned... well, the only expensive car ive owned, but it has more quirks than a lot of old beaters. again, what gives!?

sad to report, the squeaks are back, even after several applications of gummi junk.

wtf mini. people pay a premium for these cars, but you cheap out on the rubber seals for the doors, and a ton of other crappy plastic and rubber bits. not sure what we are paying for some days, other than the name...
