Hi everyone! Im back from a long absence. I had sold my 2002 MCS after many joyus miles at high speed.
Well that was a big mistake, and I fixed it today by placing an order for a 2005 pepper white, black roof MCS. It is scheduled for august delivery, so wish me luck!

The only bummer is that i need to sell my 94' 325is.. but i have plenty of time for that; although i am reminded of jersey - who could not sell her car...

ah.. details.

I wanted to have another not so common color combination, and am really excited. I already have every single mod picked out, and will most likely have all the bolt-on stuff before the car is built!

On that note - I wonder who has the first chandler mini... are u on NAM??

Wonderful to hear you are back.
Tell us more about your "big mistake". What convinced you to act?

I was trying to save as much money as possible to buy a house, so I sold the one thing that was eating all the money up - my mini. Between auto-x, mods and gas for joy driving, it really did add up. So I sold it and bought a 1994 325is - a truly great car. But I was unhappy taking corners in a 10 year old car, it just did not compare. I missed my mini so much and concluded that in order to be happy with the daily drive I would need a mini. Since I had sold off all of my mods, i figurd on starting fresh, so a pepper white (a.k.a. blank slate - tabula rase?..thanks mike)

Welcome back,

Sounds like a great choice, and I for one am expecting both an early '05 model report from you, as well as a comparo between the original MCS and the revised version.

Chalk up another win for MINI.

Well, I agree...
My yellow one was an early build 2002 - it had the very stiff suspension. One thing I noticed when I test drove the 2003 was the suspension difference. The 2003 squats under acceleration - and genrates wheel spin without mods, my 2002 did not do this with the stock suspension.
Rolling pull in first gear from 3k rpm
2002 - no wheel spin
2003 - tires on fire

I will have the springs ready when I take delivery, so im not as concerned with any issues of softness, but I would not be able to drive the stock 03 and be content.
