Tire rubbing issue/fender roll????

I have an 05 MCS and I just got 17"x8.25" offset is 25. I knew it would be a tight fit and it surewas... Rubbed right when I got them on, only the rear though. And all the way home. I trimmed up the fender and rolled the inner metal liner into a flat crease. Not to hard, I don't rub while driving, only on turns and dips. Unfortunately I am beginning to rub down the portion of the fender with the light/reflector in the rear. Is there anything I can do to push out the fender just a bit more? Anyone experienced this before?? Or with fender rolling at all?? Any feedback at all would be great. Thanks!

BFH or persuasion, but it may not end up pretty.

Since you have plastic edges on your fenders....
I would not try it...
You can bend the metal....but the plastic will no longer snap on or fit...beckinda ugly IMO.

My tire size is a 215/45/17. I was wondering if I went with a 205/45/17 if it wouldn't rub as much.

That would make it narrower, by half of the difference between the aspect ratio and. -Nevermind, LOL. (.....it confuses me to even think about this.)

Here's a link to a calculator that will make it easy to compute.

Edit,.. BTW, when I say narrower, we're only talking about a little bit. Guessing around 3 or maybe 6mm

I've got 215.45.18 (not 17) on my 2005 S and the rear rubbed a tiny bit, so I put spacers between the rear spring coils. It worked and didn't seem to effect handling.

Right, but what is your offset? Are you on factory wheels? My offset is really really aggressive... its 25, so my wheels stick out quite a bit. Im rubbing just behind the outside of the fender. If i were to put spacers it would be bad. haha

hmm are you lowered at all? is it just one side of the rear? I am running 215/45/17 too and the driver side rear rub very very little and the passenger rear rubs a lot just over bumps and big dips in the road. it too has rubbed through the same spot in yours right at the reflector. I wonder if tightening up the bumper and liners would make it stop. my bumpers and stuff sag a lot.

Yeah, i have lowering springs. Im looking into some coilovers so i could possibly raise it up a couple cm then make the springs stiffer. Hopefully that will help, are you lowered? and yeah, its strange, my left rear tire sticks out a little more than the right. Its never been in an accident, im thinking maybe they dropped the sub frame a little off center or something like that.. its weird. let me know if you do anything and it helps the rubbing!
