Radio Aux with CD changer

Holy crud another post? STOP IT Skwerl!

ok final question for today (I hope!)

I have a 2003 R53. it has a CD changer built in, which I would remove except the deck is a tape deck. oh yea!

Anyone know how to tell which model radio I have so I know if I can install an aux port ontop of the cd changer?

I could always install a TPST switch and jump back and forth as needed. But I may need a 4PST.

instead of spending 80 quid ($130) on a premade switch.

Anyhow sorry for the long conversation.

After some research, I may just be better off going with a new deck. Any thoughts?

Switch wired in (in twine with cd changer input), or a new radio...

I was in the same boat as you(2005 MCS, tape deck with Cd changer in boot)

Ended up listening to the same cd for months as it wouldn't read from other slots

Was going to get the Sony SBX310b but came across the Parrot Asteroid Classic yesterday reduced to €150 from €350 so took a chance and its amazing.

Full bluetooth to iphone with dual mic, ipod integration and loads of inputs, fits well with R53 dash too.

I'll post pictures asap

If you don't want the changer but want to remain stock looking, then just get a stock cd radio and add the aux. One note from personal exerience: if you have the navigation unit, adding aux is a little different than without the nav unit.

No nav unit.

I'm wondering if i should just get a £50 cd deck with aux in.

150 is a bit steep for me. Maybe i can find an older one on gumtree.

I like stock looks, but this system is built to be replaced, my old corolla could not be replaced, it had the oddest shaped radio with a seperate tape deck.

I'd say the CD w/aux-in is your best bet.
Not many cassette decks here in the US.
