R50/53 OBD test port

OBD test port

Where is the test plug in for the scan tool on the Mini? Never had to use it before. It doesn't seem to be in the normal location for most cars.

down near the Bonnet release latch under the dash. Mine has a plastic cover on it so you have to look for it...cant feel around to find it

Not sure about that location suggested by Wheetie - I seem to recall it being under the dash above the left knee.

Wheetie - no we aren't because on my 2004 MCS the bonnet release is on the passenger's side, not driver's. Note that the original poster put this in the First Generation forum.

By regulation it has to be close to the driver's side footwell.

Ok thanks guys. I did take a look but didn't see it. I will take another look. I know it's suppose to be in there. But before the Mini I had never seen a good release on the pass side either lol.

Lol....sounds kinda dirty!!
Oh...HOOD RELEASE......

The odb2 port is kinds hard to spot.... The cover makes it kinda hidden...

It's the European version that has a storage cubby. Not available in the U.S.
