My new MCS has been home for almost two months now, and I’ve been having too much fun motoring to get around to doing a proper detailing until a couple of days ago.

When I put Gummi Pflege on the seals I was amazed at how the product was sucked up. I put on one coat and it was absorbed in less than 15 minutes, so I added a second coat. This morning it was all absorbed so I applied a third coat and now it is acting the way that it normally acts.

Either the seals in my car were in hot and dry storage for a long time before installation, or MINI is cutting costs by not treating the seals. In either case the life of the seals could be quite short without more than the usual care. You may want to check your rubber seals to prevent premature failure.

The part number of Gummi Pflege is 82 14 9 407 015

Dunno - since I haven't used the Mothers product. Gummi Pflege is BMW's rubber protectant. I've been using it for the seals on my Z3 for a couple of years and have been pleased with it.

Well I will try that Bimmer product, as the BMW wheel cleaner ,protectant has been good
so far
Mothers really made all the black trim look great.
