How many belts 06 cooper s

I went to two different auto parts stores looking for the sepertine belt and both said I had two belts? I can only see the longer sepertine. Is there another shorter belt? If not why are the parts stores confused.

Thanks

There's only one! No idea why they're saying there's two!

Do you have a stock sc pulley or a reduced One...aka 15% or 17% ...or even the JCW?
All need a different length belt...
Brand does not really matter....any 6 rib belt of the right length works.... IMO the parts store s sells belts that is longer than needed to make it easy to put on...but they will slip on the sc...and make noise...loose power..and maybe fail.
Post if you are stock or not....

As far as I know im stock. The car has a john cooper works logo on the breather box but I as well as the prevoius owner didn't know what is special about the car. It is the checkmate edition if that means anything.

I'm drawing a blank on the us sizing for a std belt....stock is 1388 mm....us sizing uses a different length system....for example I use a 535 or can use a 532 length belt with a -17% reduction....stock might be a 547....or one step shorter....a quick search or another poster should chime in....

Could be a checkmate edition with just a JCW airbox. Its a popular upgrade to just due the JCW airbox.

Here is the Checkmate edition that was for sale. No stock JCW tuning kit.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...checkmate.html

If its a JCW Tuning Kit ( add on ) in edition to the Checkmate , it will have a plaque on the valve cover that will say JCW tuning Kit and then a serial number.

JCW airbox: #1 in diagram .

John Cooper Works Intake Kit part number 13720391513

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/13720391513/

We also carry the stock JCW Airbox Filter and the Pipercross version.

JCW Kit Air Filter Part number 13717558382

Performance Foam Air Filter - JCW part number PX1875

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/13717558382/ES2623170/

-------------

Belt Size :

6PK X 1388 11287520199 Stock Cooper S

&

6PK X 1374 11287545120 JCW Belt

BTW the checkmate was a very cool option back in 2006.

Here is some more info.

If that helps.
Thanks

Hey Thanks for all the helpful links. My airbox looks like the one on the diagram except it has the "John Cooper Works" emblem on it. What does all of that do for you that stock one don't?

It is the factory CAI (cold air intake)....
a bit of HP....2-3 HP...but a bit of sound....there is a flap that opens at higher rpm's...some folks remove the flap to get more sound all the time....
and the the "JCW" sticker....some folks like that stuff....
