I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S and there is a button by my left knew when I'm behind the wheel that I can't figure out what it does. I'm also missing the center **** that goes to the navigation, if anyone has one laying around.

 

It sounds like you are referring to the switch for the driving lights. Does it look like this?>

Yep, I persist and nothing happens. I also have 2 other switches in my toggle row and can get one to work but the other I have no clue what it does. I feel like an idiot.

 

the driving lites will only come on when this switch is on (the LED is lit) AND your high beams are on....

 

Are the buttons shown above by Drul for the Gen1 or the Gen2?

 

I don't have any running lights installed, I guess the PO took them off. That's cool though cause I wanted to get a light bar anyways. Now there's 2 toggle switches for what looks like lights in the center, one is for the fog lights, what's the other for?

 

JAB 67 - Those button pictures about with the trim is for Gen 2 2007 R56 + MINI.

The button to the left on Gen 1 R50 R52 R53 models is part of the factory Driving Light Retrofit kit or Rally lights.

You can see its location usually mounted. See it on the left on the lower knee panel on the driver side.
