Nope. Don't like it. So very happy I'm getting IB. For that, I am not sorry I didn't wait for 2005.

Thanks for the link - not bad. Will have to look at the hyper blue next to the Indi blue. Gabe, you rock!

I guess this will replace Indi Blue. It's nice, but I like IB better.

Sorry, but I feel obligated to do this.

Superb pics, Cooper4us! Thanks.

The headlights are determined, modern eyewear, - rather than the kind, smiling eyes of the 2002-04's.

Though, I hope the new changes grow on me like most MINI items do.

===> Q: ANYone know when part numbers will be available for ordering?

Mixed about the color, but I like the vibrance of the Electric Blue better  Do like the new headlamps, tho, has an industrial look to it from straight on.
Better beam dispersion, perhaps???

Is the new transmission for the MCS only a 5 speed? That is how I read it on that website.

Also notice the front grille chrome surround...it is a smooth piece, not like the current indented chrome surface.

The rearview mirror is bigger and mounted lower in the windshield.

The current 6-speed Getrag box is shared between the Cooper S and the European Market MINI ONE D (Diesel) model. However, the gar ratios are totally different between both models.

I can see the same thing happening in '05 with a new 5-speed gearbox.

That cooper S seems to be missing some of the 2005 features. The 2005 has a chrome strip in the middle of the front air damn, also on the rear there are 2 strips.
like this http://www.motoringfile.com/pictures/05_MC_2.jpg

unless that is a cooper only modification...

I like it. That would be a great complement to my EB/W MCS. Maybe the wife should get one?

I take back - the hyper is a nice color, but side by side the IB wins (for me). Kinda looks like they melted an IB and an EB together, and got something in between!

Don't think I like the new headlights. Looks a bit Star Trek...

Those changes only apply to the Cooper model bumpers.

According to Gabe the MCS retains the 6-speed. The MC gets the new 5-speed.

The chrome strips are MC only, like Cooper4us said.

Overall, the MCS has changed a lot less for '05 than the Cooper. Good idea, I think.

What's with the additional dimples on the rear bumper?

Also, it looks like they moved that deflector under the front splitter all the way forward.

Based on these pics I'm hoping this Hyper Blue is one of those colors that doesn't show well in pictures. It probably looks better in person, but so far it looks to me like about an equal mix of IB and EB....and I'm not impressed. I like IB w/ IB roof (like mine), but this one might look better with a black roof. Definitely don't like those headlights. The smooth chrome grill surround is a subtle change but makes a big difference in appearance....I think it's a great improvement.

Agree! The HB doesn't portray the richness of the darker IB.
