misfire problem

I have a mcs 06 with 58,000 i was driving home pushing it in 4th gear high rpms and then the rpms started to die. two codes were pulled p0313 and p0303. i have done a compression test cylinders 1-2 are around 170ish and 3-4 are 175ish. tested the coil pack with a reader all is good. tested each fuel injector all at 11.9, i have pulled the injectors to look at them and they all look new no build up of anything. the engine runs rough i am out of ideas.

start the car and open hood. spray a mist of water with a spray bottle near your wires and see if you can find an arc. if you see an arc you know what that mean. broken wire. spray some on the coil too its only a mist of water wont hurt nothing. its a simple but effective test to start.

Ok things just got interesting. When I bought the car the guy before me had put a MSD coil on it. I found out the number three was not working. When I bought car he gave me the old parts so I installed the original coil pack on bam!!!! Fired up good not great engine not really shaky now! But I have two new codes p2200 and p2303 which is A and B low circuit something another. So is it possible two bad coils

best way is to just get a new coil to elminate the coil. its a matter of elimination sometimes nothing wrong with that.

I've heard of a lot of people having trouble with the MSD so it's possible the original owner had trouble the the OEM coil and replaced with the MSD and now that's going bad. That would be pretty shitty, but possible. I would replace with an OEM coil

Did you check the metal tips on the coilpacks? I know on the OEM ones #3 tends to corrode faster than the others.

I replaced the coil and what do you know good to go! I'm so glad to be driving it again. So my question, is the MSD coil pack really worth getting or should I rock the OEM. And thank everyone for your help

IMO there are just as many OEM coils failures. I like many others have run a MSD coil for years after an OEM failed. Are there any real gains from the MSD coil? NO. So like many other I bought the MSD because it was cheaper then the OEM.
