Broken PCV Valve

So I was checking the PCV valve today and I overtightened it, thus snapping it. I've gotten the broken piece out, and since the o-ring was still attatched with a little thread, I put a small amount of JB weld on it. I'm ordering a new valve tonight, but it won't be here for a week.

I'm afraid that the valve will pop off due to pressure. Do you think a bit of JB weld will be enough to hold it on for a week?

ted, you wanna show pics of how its broke? JB weld is some pretty strong stuff. im sure it will be fine for a week, even forever... seen and used it used in much worse scenarios than just holding a pcv together

you should see how my pcv is held together right now lol i have anew one just havent installed it yet

Just put the old one back in for a week.

Shouldn't make much difference in that time frame.

It's too late to take a picture since I already put the epoxy. Basically the threads snapped in half. So I have a bit of threading and the o-ring attached still.

I'm hoping I won't need to drive it like a granny until I get the replacement...

Since I didn't completely seal the PCV Valve back on, am I losing boost due to the escaping pressure? I've been feeling a lack of power lately, and i'm wondering if It's just me or not.

No boost loss...
The area is sucks gasses from is just BLOW-BY...
Gasses that escape from worn valves or rings....
in the old days it was just vented in a tube to the atmosphere....was piped to point at the ground.
As a emmisions thing, it was rerouted so the engine sucks it back in, and burns it!
So NO worries!

Same problem and same idea

Hey, I had same problem and came up with same solution. I have a 3 hour drive ahead and won’t get part in time. I’ve tried everywhere and due to Christmas can’t get the part. Fingers crossed, will post update when I Install the new one. The JB is good up to 550f
someone wanted photos of break - see attached

No good

No good. Glued it with JB. Left 24 hours. Screwed in and with almost no pressure it snapped at previous break. I have one on order but pain to get one this side of mid January

Bush mechanic solution (short term)

Cheers for that. I had ordered one, unfortunately shipping to Australia will be early January but I am on a trip 27th Dec. I went bush mechanic with cable ties to get me through till then. The o ring gives a good seal and the suction hose presses it in place, I just need to hold it in place for one or two good drives. It looks worse than it is
