R50/53 a queschin on fix- a -flat? could also be a rant :)
hello all i posted a while ago on a product called fix a flat and have queschines about it, now i have herd alot of people recomend this to other people on the forum but i think some should be warned of what it can do and that it can cause much more of a problem than help, and it should probably onley be used as last resort witch it still my not work witch happened to a freind of mines park avenue, i have seen many instances where when fix a flat was used the tire place refused to work on the tire branding it as a liability because it was contaminated with a forein substence
so i geuss it sprayes foam into the tire to plug the hole but then makes the tire off balance as well as when it is removed the tire is contaminated with all this hardened foam hence making it very hard to clean and patch and rebalace, now something i have done to keep this from becoming a problem is i carry a plires in the hatch in the back as well as a couple of patch strips for plugs they look like little twizzlers and a electric pump, i got a flat in my paradas once got out found the tire with the nail removed it stuck in the plug and filled with air took five minutes, then at my convienece took it in to get the patch replaced, have any of you used fix a flat and have had any problems at all with it just wondering, but ive herd some bad things about it and just want to clarify and to possibly warm others!!!
thanks for listening

i too have some questions regarding fix-a-flat. namely, the precautions or warnings say specifically do not use with z-rated tires. i believe many of us who have replaced our run flats have done so with high performance tires, some of which are z-rated.
so my question is...can we really use fix-a-flat on z-rated tires? and has anybody done so yet?
if no, what are the alternatives? in addition to bringing a patch kit?
