R50/53 East Coast processing center lag???
Just curious if anybody else getting a car from the New Jersey distribution center is getting the same story.
So last week, I couldn't stand it any longer, and considering that it had been exactly 2 months to the day from when I ordered my car, i called my dealer to see if the "order tracking" was wrong in my favor. The salesman told me that my car should be in in about a week and a half. GREAT!!
Then today, I couldn't stand it any longer, so I called again. This time, the answer is that they had a whole bunch of cars at the distribution center, and that they didn't even get 1 truck load this whole week. Also that they weren't getting a truck today.
Now it could be another 2 weeks til I get my car. We talked about the possibility of MINI slowing production down to ramp up for the "OPEN" model, and that MINI is holding the number of cars the dealers can actually "sell" in a month, so that they can't order as many next month. This all seems reasonable, and I appreaciate the information, but it still doesn't get me any closer to my car.
My salesman also said that the car could ship out early next week, and I could have it by the middle of next week.
I just want to know if anybody else getting cars from the New Jersey distribution center is getting the same thing?

Both the New York and Port Heuneme VPC's frequently develop backlogs in excess of 14 days. However, Charleston doesn't seem to have this problem as often.
My car sat on the pier in New York for 16 days before it finally moved into the VPC and onto the truck...
The waiting sucks, but your car will come...

oh, thats not encouraging :???: Just kidding. Thanks for the advice. I know it's a big operation, and things can take a while. I'm just going crazy scheduling rides, and borrowing cars. I've driven about 6 different makes of cars in the last week. I sold my car when I did based on the date my dealer said it "should" be in, so I'm itchin.
