hello all well as many of you know mini had some bad paint problems in their beggining years with their door handles/ arm rest well mine had finnaly got so bad that i took the door apart and took off the handles and am getting ready to repaint and the queschin is i have a ds/ w roof and im wondering if the arm rests and center stacks would look good in dark silver same body color i have alot of it and im torn between body color or going origanal

does any one have pics of ds colored handles so i can get a idea of what to expect

ok i spell horrably so what !!! thanks to waterford school systems my graduating class was the worst one at the time i acually spell better when drunk, i wonder how that works, but thanks for the pics i think it will make it to dark inside so ill just go with brite silver,

1. You might check with your dealer and ask if the parts can be replaced under warranty. The paint should not come off that easily in such a short time.

2. If they will not replace it then sure the dark silver color with a gloss or clear coat over it in a few layers will offer additional protection against wear and tear.

Note the anthracite dash has a clear coat finish while the door pulls and downtubes are dull and don't have it.
If you repaint then remove the pieces you want done and submit them to a paint shop to do in the OEM dark silver color with clear coat.

Additional pieces to paint that you might want to consider-
Dash pieces- the dash air vents on both outer sides of the dash, air vent rings on the sides of the speedo, downtubes
Other interior parts-
clock holder on the headliner, air vent on the boot shelf
Other parts-
The side light markers, the intercooler cover if you have an MCS, the side mirror covers, a stubby antenna
