New to forum, new purchase, Big Time Modder'

So my name is Branden, I'm coming from the subaru world. I had a 99 legacy gt wagon. that was wrx swapped with stage 3 mods which made 275ho and 250trq. I spent over 15,000$ into it modding it and tuning yada yada. I loved the car but blew up to many engines and I wanted something still sporty and fun to drive. I did compete in auto x last 2 years and I drove a friends 07 mini turbo and loved it. With the MPG i couldnt complain, so I recently sold my suby and picked up a R53.

I am huge into electrical mods including lighting stereos and performance mods. Not really into the stance seen.

I have defi Advance gauges and a new stereo for install. The windows will all be tinted 35% soon. Not sure where to go next, intake, exhaust or pulley.

Nice to meet everyone! Hope to learn a lot about the car here.

Welcome aboard and good luck. You will learn a lot from members here. I bet your cheeks hurt from smiling so much everytime you drive your MINI. Remember to wave.

So many modding possibilities... You're going to wonder where all you disposable income went...

Welcome to NAM, sir.

Welcome! Nice choice in rides. Where to start first is a dangerous question. Bought my mini last February and haven't stopped yet. Exhaust, pulley, cai. Yes, start there.

Honestly, and this is coming from experience, don't jump in to the mods too deep too fast. Start with a plan and do your research. Lots of it! given the age and miles there may be some important maintenance things to do first that can cost a bit. Last thing you want to do is do a mod only to change it down the road because you read about something better or spread yourself too thin because say a power steering pump goes or something.
The threads can be very dangerous that way. I probably would have done a couple things differently had I put more thought into it or did a bit more reading.
But don't get me wrong, still VERY happy with all my decisions. Just wonder what the car wold be like if I went with x vs. y. If you know what I mean.
Trust me, it's an addiction.

Btw - where are you from.

i got an alta intake on the way. and alta 15% pulley. the invidia catback is last on the list.

ebc redstuff pads and new rotors with summer tires in the next 2 months.

I did do a lot of reading too. I've done so much modding to the subaru, i want to keep it simple with the mini, its already a blast to drive.

Simple is a good way to go with a MINI. There are a lot of parts out there, but only a relatively few that really enhance the driving experience.

Good choices. I pretty much have the same set up and if I did more research I probably would have ended up with the alta intake as well. Good luck with it.

Btw - I LOVE my invidia. Get lots of complements on it.
