KC Driving lights.

Installed my KC Black Slimlites on the Mini today. I think they look pretty good. What does everyone else think.

I take it that the slim means depth. So can I please see a side view? From the front they look very nice.

Those lights look good. How did you mount them? Did you use a factory setup, or did you fabricate something? How about the electrics--did you install a separate toggle switch? How are you powering them? Any details will be helpful, as I plan to install similar lights on my Pepperwhite.

Driving Lights Continued

I bought the Mounted Driving Light Brackets at OutMotoring.com for $58.00. They were the most inexpensive. The KC lights had a wiring harness that is plug and play. It came with a toggle switch. Very easy to install. The most difficult area of the install was the routing of the wires and making it look professional. I attempted to install a toggle a different toggle switch in the toggle are but was unable to attach. I didn't want to attempt it because of the circuit board. So I attached the KC switch underneath the toggle panel. Looks good.

Just like I said wire routing was the most difficult. Two power wires, each line has a fuse. The white wire, which powers the switch, to the hot cable in the fuse junction box. Yellow wire straight to positive cable and negative to negative cable.

I also purchase amber see through covers from Serious OffRoad Products. See picture. I haven't received them yet so I don't know how they will look. I will post pics when I get them.

Nice job. I just installed the same KC lights on my 2006 Mini S. I put them down in front of the lower grill. I used the outmotoring Gen 1 Lower Driving Light Brackets. I put yellow Lamin-X over the lenses. I might check into the yellow lenses you mentioned if the Lamin-X doesn't hold up over time.

When I get a chance I will post some picts.

They have a nice amber color. Are they amber all the way around the outer edge? Do you have a close up pict of one of them? I hope to get some shots tomorrow of my lights.
