MINI wants to keep the product line fresh and seems to have adopted this strategy of getting rid of colours. So for fun you have to pick as if your an overpaid MINI marketing type and select a colour or two of current MINIS that you would stop making and give a reason why.

Here are my two -

Pepper white - its too popular and too hard to keep clean (Maybe my wife’s would go up in value if they quit making it)

Liquid yellow - Appeals too much to young people how could we every compete with Buick if we have young people buying our cars

No Nick, you weren't voted off NAM, just asked to tone down your solicitations.

I'd like to see a deeper shade of yellow, a la Honda S2000 or RUF-tuned Porsche. I'd also like to have a Pure White, as well as Carbon Black (normally reserved for //M-cars) for the Cooper S.

Pure Silver can be deep-sixed for something more dynamic (i.e. Steel Blue), and I'm glad Indi Blue is being canned, as it's way too popular. Ditto with Dark Silver, which should be swapped out for a Steel Gray-esque shade.

Ryephile - Your not thinking like an overpaid marketing executive your reasons are based on logic or fact. The reason to get rid of pure silver is that is a german racing colour and we marketing types don't want any one to know this is a german engineered car.

I say get rid of Electric Blue....so it will be an early MCS color, only! I like the idea of a few colors being associated with particular models. I would dump BRG for a nutty metallic lime green! Bwahahahahah! Now, you may ALL vote me off the island!

I don't think we really need two blacks so axe the solid black and keep the metallic one.

Also I agree we don't really need two silvers so axe the pure silver.

Add a lavender metallic or candy apple red metallic.
Live dangerously!

Oh man!!!!!! If I had my a pick of of two colors to throw off the island, well....let's see......hmmmmmmm....I KNOW...BRG would be my FIRST choice....cuz of why????
Well, cuz its bug ugly for one thing.....for another it just ain't hip....not by a long shot......for another....it dusts up worse than black.......that is a proven fact....AND it spots easier in the rain.....to recount.....bug ugly, ain't hip, dusts up AND spots easily.
Now.....my second choice........I know.....BRG....AGAIN.......cuz of why???? it is a proven fact that the color diminishes sex drive.....particularly in males and specially in females......also.......painting the ugly beasts is an extra onus on the ole factory....paint comes AALLLL the way across the Irish Sea.......from Eire.....PITA....only proper ferry is Sunday.......that is why the BRG build quality is the worst among colors....they are ALL built on Monday.....bunch of hang overs, lots of late people to work, LOTS of absenteism........ yep...discontinue BRG and then Discontinue BRG some more......matter of fact....re-export the lot of them.....send them to the Fatherland....let them Huns deal with them......

Pure sliver – 'cos it's a granddad color and doesn't make the mini stand out from every other car which is silver on the road (is silver the new black!?)

Pepper White – Only the police have white cars and MINIs don't like police.

I'm with DanTheMan -- I contemplated silver (I know, I know) for a while -- and then realized it IS the new black! Most popular car color. :???:

So I'd nix the pure silver (sorry, but I like the DS just a *bit* better) and the LY (because I get to pick two - no "good" reason). I'd replace with a blue-green that is reminiscent of the old sea foam or whatever that color was -- it was neat-o.

I'd pick the other by throwing a dart at some paint chips from Home Depot. Thinking like a marketer already (hey I'm a sales/marketing consultant, this is how I'm used to doing my job)....now where's that paycheck??

Just to take it a step further Mini should hire Martha Stewart to pick the colors (from the clink). She could come up with a entirely new line that would match your house, purse, clothing or whatever. Maybe black and white vertical stripes? Just a thought.

Using that logic, Chili Red should be the first to go.

Do away with or change BRG......under most circumstances this would have been my favorite, but they really blew it with the drab green they came up with. Don't dare ax dark silver. In good light, sparkling silver specks light up all over that make DS a real crowd pleaser.

BRG/w is the worst color combo of all. I could not agree more with pockeyjockeyowner.

If I HAD to choose I'd vote off LY and BRG, although a different shade of both would be welcome...something like classic MINI Almond Green and a yellow w/ a tad more red in it. I'd also like to see Island Blue (also a classic MINI color...kinda blue/grey). I also know several folks dreaming of a tangerine orange MINI, but the new cabrio orange is as close as we'll probably get for now.

I am surprised that no one has mention Solid Gold Metallic, one really aweful color that needs to be put in the dumpster of the island...get rid of Cosmos Black, who needs "metallic" black?

Bring back Velvet Red or a better variation of it.

BRG needs to go. LY needs to be more yellow and less lemonish.

Personally, I think chili red should go. I hate red cars. Way too flashy. Maybe replace it with silver or beige then the MINIs would blend in with all the other cars on the road.
