R50/53 Not too happy...
I figured while even though I ordered my new Mini, I should still take a look at the other dealerships and see if they have anything I want. Since its gonna take till May to get my Mini, and I dont have a car now, what do I have to lose. I went to Vista Mini in Miami, and they have the exact Cooper S I want with ONE exception. It had silly looking custom leather seats. So I talked to the salespeople, and they said there was no way they could possibly switch the seats out with another Cooper S sitting mere feet away. I finally get the manager, and sit down with him. "I want this car, please make it happen. I want to drive away with it today." And they wouldnt do it! How can you possibly let a customer walk out of your dealership that wants a car so badly! Now thats poor service.
Nah, the seats were 4 grand. Then they said they would lower the seats to the regular 1300 dollars like the stock seats are, because the car had been sitting on the lot for a while.
And the seats werent made for the car...they were just black leather with white piping. The quality just didnt look too hot.
So in my opinion, if they were willing to knock the price down on the seats so much, why not just throw some leatherette seats into the car?!? I just think its incredibly silly to let someone leave who has seven grand in their pocket, ready to buy a car.

You can always call the MINI dealers that are sponsors on here and see if they have what you are looking for.
I just think it is a shame people no longer respect their word. You ordered a MINI
gave someone your word that you would take it when the car comes in.Sure the
next person may take it
. If you can not wait why put in the order.
Good luck on getting a car and Happy Motoring

Well, the order itself doesnt actually go out until monday, cause I said I wanted to work out financing with my insurance company. Thats why I'm looking this weekend.
What Mini dealers should I call?

Classic Mini or Mini of the Hampton's both are listed under the sponsor directory.
Sorry I misunderstood your wording that you had already ordered a MINI.
Depending where you are shipping from these dealerships is not bad or you can go pick it up and have the Fun of breaking it in really quick.

you answered your own question, they are having a hard time moving those seats out, so they won't switch them, because then they will just sit in another car and not get sold.
Seems like they just wanted somebody to take them away

Unfortunately supply and demand allows some MC Dealers to have a "take it or leave it" approach. Assume you tried to order the exact car you wanted as an alternative? It doesn't surprise me they wouldn't switch out the seats. Try shopping around on-line and see if you can find the "right" car. Usually a Dealer would rather sell a car from their inventory (most are bought by the dealer with borrowed $$) than let a qualified buyer just walk away. However the only power you have is to walk away and find another deal. If you really can't stand the seats but really want the car otherwise, look for another deal somewhere else then try to get their attention by offering to re-consider the car with some form of compensation for the seat color. If that doesn't work then order it and wait. It'll be worth it..................mgg
