I figured while even though I ordered my new Mini, I should still take a look at the other dealerships and see if they have anything I want. Since its gonna take till May to get my Mini, and I dont have a car now, what do I have to lose. I went to Vista Mini in Miami, and they have the exact Cooper S I want with ONE exception. It had silly looking custom leather seats. So I talked to the salespeople, and the said there was no way they could possibly switch the seats out with another Cooper S sitting mere feet away. I finally get the manager, and sit down with him. "I want this car, please make it happen. I want to drive away with it today." And they wouldnt do it! How can you possibly let a customer walk out of your dealership that wants a car so badly! Now thats poor service.

I found that MINI doesn't play those games with it's customers. you won't here them begging you "What will it take for you to drive out of here in this car". They upgraded those seats on purpose and now someone who appreciates them, ugly as they are, will buy the car with them and love it.

You might want to think about getting the car with those seats. You may find that they are comfortable, even if they are ugly. and no one knows what you are sitting on as you blast past them on the freeway!!

Have you called around to the other MINI dealers?

The seats were 4 thousand dollars, there was no way I was even gonna consider it. They were just black, with white piping all around them, and white piping all around the headrest. The quality didnt look great anyways...and its just not what i wanted. I didnt think it would be such a huge deal to move them from one car to another. I wasnt asking them to throw them away or anything, just to rearrange the seats so that I could buy the car. But oh well, I'll just order one.

The car was electric blue. SO pretty

bigpmj -- that stinks that you were *this close* to your EB Cooper S!

I guess you can take solace that yours is being made from scratch just to your specifications...........but I don't know how much solace that is.

Happy waiting (I'll be right there with ya -- and even longer)

I know, I'll get everything made just the way I want it. The only thing I didnt think thru was...what am I going to drive in the meantime? I'm a 20 year old college student, and I dont have a car to drive to work and school with. So now my old car is gone, and I have ZERO! Oh well...Ill have to figure out sumthin.
