Hello All,

I am finally getting the MC on the track tomorrow.. Limerock/SCDA event.. Yes, a little nervous but then again it's only a beginner class...Looks like we will get 1 /12 hours on the track before the days end..

Is anyone else going to this??

There are supposed to be 13 MINI's in the novice session. Total 25 in novice session.

It will be a little nerve-racking your first time out, but you will love it!

Cape Cod MINI

So, that's 6 of us, who else?

It is highly unlikely that you will need it! You will be in a controlled environment, it is very safe.

You will have a blast, there will be many MINI enthusiasts, all types of cars, everyone is very nice and helpful.

Here is a link on some things to bring:

http://mini2.com/forum/showthread.ph...111#post761111

and another:

Don't worry if you don't have everything, someone else will have it! Just gives you a general idea of what to expect.

SCDA doesn't have a mailing list, you just have to keep on eye on their web site http://www.scda1.com to know when the events are. They are at Lime Rock again for two days in June and then in November. They also have two days at Watkins Glen in May and 5 events at New Hampshire International Speedway. I have been running their events now for 4 years and they are very well run and organized events. It's a great way to spend a day with fellow enthisiasts and a great way to learn to drive in a controlled environment.

First of all, it is truly an exhilirating and exhausting
experience. I've said it before and I'll say it again, everyone who
likes driving should do this at least once in their lifetime. This
was my second track day, not on the same track as my first. This
was a much faster track. We had 13 MINI's in the novice group. But
I'd say that there were close to 20 MINI's total, some participated
in other run groups.

I had an excellent instructor, John Berger. He pushed me, but
pushed me gently. At the same time he was easygoing, he was also
aggresive and enjoying the heck out of it!

In the main straight, I was reaching speeds of 110mph, in 4th gear!
Then you're approaching your turn, braking hard, but smooth, to go
squealing into your next series of turns. It's true, you're doing
things by the end of the day that you didn't believe you'd
accomplish in the beginning. You and your car go to limits you
never realized you could.

I passed a Camaro, Corvette Z06, Lotus Espirit (I think we all
passed him, many times over),etc. Words can't explain what an
incredible day it was. Classroom time, track time, hanging out with
MINI friends, old and new. But the track, that's the real rush!
You all must try it some time!
